Every good product is born from a specific pain. ZAPSIO was no exception: it started with plain frustration at how much time something as pointless as writing up meeting notes eats up.
It started with us
A day full of meetings and calls. And after each one the same ritual: sit down, decipher the notes, write up the minutes, send out the tasks. An hour of work a day just so nobody forgets what was agreed. And things still got forgotten; half the substance disappeared from notes written in a hurry anyway.
We told ourselves a simple thing: this has to be automatable. You only need to record the meeting, and everything else, the transcript, the summary, the tasks, could be done by artificial intelligence. So why had nobody done it properly, and in Czech?
The best tools don’t solve other people’s problems. They solve the one you know firsthand.
From the first line of code
We started building. No big budgets, no team of investors, just a clear vision and the drive to solve a problem that annoyed us. The first version could only turn audio into text. Then came the summary. Then the tasks. Then effectiveness analysis, follow-up emails, meeting outputs.
We added every feature because we missed it in practice, not because it looks good in an ad. And that is something we try to stick to at ZAPSIO to this day.
Why the Czech market
Big international tools struggle with Czech. They misunderstand, the output sounds clumsy, support is in English. We wanted something that understands a Czech meeting, everyday speech, interruptions, jargon, and returns output that sounds natural and can be used right away. We build ZAPSIO for people who work here, and it is built for Czech and Slovak.
Where we are today
The simple idea of “let a machine write it for us” has become a tool that has already processed thousands of meetings for hundreds of users. It helps salespeople focus on clients, managers keep their teams in the loop, and everyone else win back the hours that used to go on paperwork.
And we are only getting started. We still have a long list of things we want to improve, and most of them come straight from you, our users.
